Kumquats in chocolate

Description of preparation:

Kumquats in chocolate are prepared in a cherry-in-chocolate fashion. First we fill the fruit with alcohol and let it soak (in our case it's rum). And then we will start to cover with chocolate. To prepare kumquats in chocolate, we will need bitter chocolate, rum (or cognac), and also a little brown sugar.

Ingredients:

  • Kumquats - 500-700 Grams
  • Rum - 0,5 Liter
  • Brown Sugar - To taste
  • Chocolate - 200-300 Grams

Servings: 5-6

How to cook "Kumquats in chocolate"

Kumquats thoroughly wash, pierce each toothpick in several places.
Prepare a container in which you will marinate kumquats, and rum.

Pour the kumquats with rum and let them stand for at least a day. It is better to let them marinate a week or two, but not all have the patience.

Then pour the rum out of the kumquats, lay them on the foil and sprinkle with brown sugar.
Send it to the refrigerator for 24 hours. This is done in order that later the chocolate on the frozen kumquats is easier to grasp.

Prepare chocolate by melting it in a water bath or in a microwave.
For convenience, I suggest taking a box of cardboard (I was from under the flakes) and inserting toothpicks with kumquats in chocolate in it: they will dry faster. Dip the fruit, nylon on the toothpick, into the chocolate, and then insert into the box, as in the photo.

Place the kumquats in the refrigerator for full congealing.
