Doctor Ernst Moreau saved 996 children thanks to ... carrot soup.

Today Ernst Moro called a Slovenian medic. However, he came to the world as a subject of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the city, which was then called Laibach, and today is called Ljubljana. Impressive barbel lived very modestly, before adulthood engaged in adored pediatrics.

Moro did not receive any medical awards, titles and titles during his lifetime. However, today every pediatrician knows the name of this doctor. The fact is that it was his discoveries that saved thousands of lives, if not millions of children!

Ernst's career was not particularly fast, but successful. In 1899, the Austrian received a doctorate in medicine, in 1906 became a pediatric specialist, and a few years later Heidelberg University gave him a professorship. Throughout his life, Moreau worked on solving the extremely acute problem of infant mortality in those times and achieved impressive success!

At the beginning of the last century, only three out of four babies survived until the year of life. Many babies parted with life because of the banal diarrhea.

Dr. Moreau has found a reliable remedy able to cope with this scourge. It turned out that ordinary carrot soup helps to avoid diarrhea!

Only recently, it was found out: slightly salted carrot soup-puree on the water contains acid oligosaccharides. They do not allow harmful bacteria to gain a foothold on the intestinal mucosa, which helps even against antibiotic-resistant diarrhea.

Only this discovery would give Moro the right to universal honor and respect. But it was by no means the only one!

It was Ernst who created the so-called "Moro milk". This composition of cream, flour, oil and sugar is used for the artificial feeding of infants. In addition, the man opened the world-famous reflex of Moreau.

If on the table, on which the child is lying before the age of four months, strongly slap on both sides of the crumb, the baby will divorce the handles in different directions. Today, this method is used to diagnose cerebral palsy.

Modest good-natured doctors even the bloodthirsty Nazis of the Third Reich did not touch. Because of his Jewish wife, Moreau lost his professorship in Heidelberg, but otherwise the family of the doctor, the Second World War, almost did not touch.

Most of the personal discoveries Dr. Moreau introduced into the use of his clinic. The doctor saved at least a thousand children during his own practice, and the number of babies who were helped by his findings later, and does not lend themselves to counting! For example, in the video below you can see how the Moro reflex is used today.

Medical progress is moving forward thanks to people like Ernst Moreau. They are selflessly working on discoveries that later save lives for millions. I bet, in the future, the medicine for cancer will be opened by such doctors as the Slovene-Austrian ascetic!
